The first Ekadashi of the New year and last of the chaturmas. As per the ancient belief, it is said that, on this day, God wakes up after a sleep of 4 months. There are total 24 ekadashis in a year.
This 'Prabodhini' is considered as the best of all. It is said that if you fast on this day (without food) and engage in Satsang-bhajan till mid night, you get the fruit of all the 24 ekadashis in this one ekadashi.
Observing fast in such a manner makes Shree Hari very happy and God gave His holy n cglimpse to Saints like Shatanand Swami. Resolutions taken ihaturmas comes to an end. Even then if some one keeps their resolutions throughout their entire life, then God really become very happy and pleased with him.
Regular observance of fast on all ekadashis as per the Vidhi in scriptures yields the following fruits:
1. Devotee not aspiring anything but God, get ultimate salvation.
2. All his desires are fulfilled.
3. The devotee is blessed with the same fruit that person would receive by feeding a thousand ascetics daily for 60,000 years.
4. Devotee is blessed in equalancy to a person who has done 1,000 'Ashwamegh yagna' and 100 'Rajsuya yagna'.
